O - Optimism

Or maybe I should have written ‘lack of optimism’. We, Poles, have lost our optimism. After 1989 so many things have changed and many aspects of life have improved. Unemployment is coming down, the inflation is 10 times smaller, the national average wage has doubled. After joining the EU home ownership has increased, as well as car ownership. But many of us have forgotten about the facts from the previous century and do not appreciate what we have now. Of course the improvement is not equal for all the parts of . The east part of the country has fallen behind. So this inequality is one source of the Polish pessimism. The second source is stagnation. The reforms after 1989 were real and Poles felt they worked. Nowadays, there are no real reforms.
